THE WIT DOCTORS!: Improvisational (adj.): Composed, Recited, Made or invented on the spur of the moment.

Comedians (noun): Funny people

THE WIT DOCTORS are a talented group of Improvisational Comedians (with experience in such groups as Chicago City Limits and Unexpected Company in New York City), Dudley Riggs’ and The Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis, and The Comedy Warehouse and The Adventurer’s Club at Downtown Disney’s Pleasure Island and Sak Theater Comedy Lab in Orlando). They work with their keyboard accompanists to create shows and comedic pieces of varying lengths using direct Audience input to sculpt a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience. They also can utilize information obtained ahead of time about your group, what it does, and the people attending to enhance the customization of the show or to impart specific information in a humorous context.

THE WIT DOCTORS have a number of improvisational ‘structures’ (see attached listing and descriptions) at their disposal. These structures are basic frameworks for scenes, games, poems, songs and more that are fleshed out and driven by ‘suggestions’ solicited from the audience. The performers then create the improvisations based on these audience suggestions, usually with continuing input during the course of each structure. The lineup of structures can be tailored to create shows of varying lengths, with whatever level of input you wish the audience to have.

In addition to improvisational shows, THE WIT DOCTORS also can write and perform sketches for your group, help your speakers in enlivening their presentations, and run teambuilding workshops.

THE WIT DOCTORS are led by MARK LAINER. Mark is originally from Massachusetts and while not actually a doctor he does have a degree in Neuroscience from Amherst College. He has worked with a number of different theatrical, sketch comedy and improvisational troupes. He has written, directed and performed convention shows and special events for Walt Disney World, T. Skorman Productions, PGI Entertainment and TEK productions, among others. He performed for more than ten years as a Founding Member of the Improv Company in Residence at The Comedy Warehouse at Downtown Disney’s Pleasure Island, and before that performed in theater, as well as with improvisational and sketch comedy groups, in New York City. He has appeared in numerous TV Productions, films, and commercials. Mark currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. 12 gauge nipple jewelry
